Pest is an insect, rodent, nematode, fungus, weed or other form of terrestrial or acquatic animal or plant life, or a virus, bacteria, or other microorganism that is injurious to health or to the environment.
Pesticide is any substance or mixture of substances intended for preventing, destroying, repelling or mitigating any kind of pest, and any substance or mixture of substances intended for use as a plant regulator, defoliant or dessicant, with the general exception of specified animal drugs or feed. Pesticides are variously known with association of what they do: Insecticides act on insects; Fungicides act on fungi; Rodenticides act on rodents.
